The Ely Hero Awards chosen Charity of the Year 2022, Cambridgeshire Expressive Arts and Counselling Centre (CEAACC) is presented with vital funds to support a young person through the service.

Sponsors and Judges gathered at the Centre to formally present the funds to the CIC and received a tour of the premises and see first-hand the incredible work done in the community.

The Centre is bright, airy, full of fun and adventure and most of all provides a homely, calm environment where service users can relax.

The Community Interest Company has a person-centred approach to therapy and offers various forms of art as an opportunity to explore and develop emotional well being through different dimensions and depths.

This could be through music, art, drama, dance, movement, or writing. The service has proved to be a lifeline for many local families.

Eleanor Port-Burke, Centre Director said “We are incredibly appreciative of the generous donation of £450 from Ely Hero Awards which we will put directly towards funding a child or young person through 10 therapeutic sessions. Early and prompt intervention can be life changing when offered at the right time. Mental Health difficulties can affect individuals at all different life stages and times. We are confident that this donation will make a tremendous difference to a young person in our local community and allow them to make meaningful progress with their wellbeing”.
