Ely Hero Awards Launch 2018

Help us find Ely’s unsung heroes including the smiliest server and the best parent in this year's Ely Hero Awards!

Local drain care and repair specialists, Metro Rod Cambridge is very proud to announce the second Ely Hero Awards, a community event taking place in June. The event was launched at a drinks reception on Monday 5 March, at The Poets House, Ely, and was kindly hosted by media partner The Ely Standard Newspaper.

Local businesses, sponsors and the judging panel, along with winners from last year’s Ely Hero Awards, all attended the fabulous launch party. Guests were entertained by Kathryn Buck, a local professional singer, and were joined by very special guest, Mr Chris Parkhouse DL, along with other civic guests who attended the party.

The Ely Hero Awards 2018 has 10 categories in which individuals can nominate their special ‘Hero’ – someone who lives or works in Ely or the surrounding villages, within a 10-mile radius. The judging panel will shortlist three nominees who will be invited to the exclusive Award Ceremony at The Maltings, Ely on Monday 25 June, where the winner of each category will be announced.
